Delete your account
There are two ways to delete your Gigmo account and everything in it. The first is instant and you can do it yourself. The second is for people who no longer have the app installed.
Option 1 — delete it yourself, in the app
Settings → Account → Delete account
Gigmo asks you to confirm, then to sign in again (your password, or your Google account, depending on how you signed up). The account is removed immediately and the erasure below starts at once.
Option 2 — request deletion by email
If you cannot open the app, email us from the address your Gigmo account uses. We need that to be sure the request is really yours — we will not delete an account on the word of someone else.
Write to privacy@gigmo.ai with the subject Gigmo account deletion request. We confirm receipt within 7 days and complete the deletion within 30 days, as the GDPR requires. You do not need an account on any other service, and there is nothing to pay.
What gets deleted
Deletion is a single server‑side cascade, not a manual clean-up. It removes:
- your account itself, and your sign‑in identity with Firebase Authentication;
- your profile, username, settings, notification preferences and profile picture;
- every gig you created, with its payment lines, change history and pictures;
- every task you created;
- every contact you created, and every contact request you sent or received;
- every file you attached to a gig;
- your email‑import forwarding address, so it stops accepting mail, and the imported emails still on file;
- your notification tokens, so no further push notifications can reach you;
- your Google Calendar grant — the stored refresh token is revoked with Google and then deleted.
What happens to shared work
- Gigs other people own that were shared with you are not deleted — they belong to their owner. Your account is removed from them, so you disappear from the gig and can no longer see it.
- Gigs you own are deleted for everyone they were shared with. Tell your collaborators first if that matters to them.
- Calendar events already written to your own Google Calendar stay in your calendar. They are yours; delete them there if you want them gone.
- Contacts other users hold about you are their records, not yours. Write to privacy@gigmo.ai and we will pass the request on.
What is kept, and for how long
- Nothing of your app content. There is no grace period and no archive copy — deletion is immediate and permanent, and it cannot be undone.
- Backups. Google Cloud keeps short-lived, encrypted infrastructure backups; deleted data ages out of them within 30 days and is never restored into the app.
- Server logs may hold your account identifier for up to 30 days, for security and abuse investigation.
- Crash and analytics records held by Google are not linked to your gigs or contacts and follow Firebase’s own retention settings.
Want less than a full deletion?
You do not have to delete the account to stop most processing:
- Disconnect Google Calendar in the app’s calendar settings — the token is revoked and deleted.
- Switch email import off, or retire the forwarding address, in the app’s settings.
- Delete individual gigs, tasks, contacts and files at any time.
